Well, that week disappeared in a flash…it’s been a busy week of blogging, networking and socialising.
I find that the run-up to the school summer holidays is often as busy, if not more so than the run-up to Christmas.
I don’t know if it will change as my children leave full time education – but I often feel like friends, I have met through the kids being at school, and I all cram in lots of social events before people go away for the summer.
No summer getaway for me this year, as I went to Sydney in April and am planning to go back next year. Also, as is often the case with adult children it is hard to find time to holiday as a family amidst all their plans.
I have to admit I quite like the slower pace of the summer, when a lot of people are away from London. Apart from the very touristy parts of the city, it is nice to enjoy the lull and make the most of the quieter parts of my home town. I’m also thinking it would be a good time to catch up on all the things that get put to the bottom of the list of things to do….
Off to cast a final glance over my piece for Huffington Post UK which will be up later this week. It follows in the vein of my recent vlog and blog on here about underwear – but focuses more on body image and how underwear can help us create a positive one. Body image is something I have wrestled with all my life and is something I have to work quite hard on, so I can feel positive about my body and how I look. I seem to be much better at accepting my emotional flaws than those I perceive to be my physical ones…I’ll let you know when it’s up.
In the meantime, here is the week just gone in pictures. From top left clockwise we have:
1. Me, in the gym.
2. Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill, London – always a lovely night out.
3. A slightly out of focus photo my phone took inadvertently.
4. Part of the vibrant decoration on the Ivy Cafe Wimbledon, as Wimbledon Village gets ready for the tennis.
5. A great Maya Angelou quote.
6. A visual I used on Instagram for my blog post about rethinking your underwear as you get older:
7. Evanescence on “I’m listening to…” this week
Hope you have a good week x
