Firstly, an apology for no “I’m listening to…” this week. This week, as is the norm these days, accelerated by, but my weekly musical pick will be back this coming Friday.
I’m pretty tired today but feeling very grateful and fortunate for all the ways in which I fill my time at the moment…even the hours spent this morning cleaning and sorting washing!
Excitingly, it looks like I will be releasing an EP later this year and I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. So, quite fitting that I spent Friday on a photo shoot for new promo shots. I was lucky enough to work with Jamie Sadd again (@kotahi_) and MUA Lindsey Poole (@lindseypoolemakeup), both of whom are such joys to work with.
As I have said before whenever I am in front of a camera I have such a huge respect for models. What they do is a very specific skill and one that I am yet to master. Sadly my front of camera skills are rather too hit and miss for my liking… but thanks to Lindsey’s gorgeous make up and Jamie’s incredible eye and direction – hopefully I have done what I needed to. Fingers crossed…
Yesterday was an unusual day for me – no writing, no music and no household chores – instead it was day filled with sport. It started at 8.30 am by watching the final Lions/All Blacks rugby test. Such an exciting, nail biting match to watch and though the end felt flat I do feel that the Lions drawing the series in New Zealand against this current All Blacks team was an incredible achievement…but I know I am not a rugby expert!!
Straight after the match finished I hotfooted it to a quick brunch with a girlfriend in Wimbledon Village after which we headed off to the tennis. A glorious day on Number One court – fabulous tennis on a hot sunny day with a few glasses of Pimms. We even managed to get onto Centre Court at the end of the day to watch the Federer and Zverev match. Certainly felt very lucky indeed…..
I hope you had a good week too and a lovely weekend.
Here is the week just gone in pictures. From top left clockwise we have:
1. The new double (demon) prowler at Bounce Gym in Wimbledon Park – my new nemesis…
2. Number 1 court at Wimbledon.
3. Lindsey Poole’s gorgeous makeup. I so wish I could make my skin so flawless and glowing.
4. My attempt at an arty studio shot.
5. Just the most perfect peony.
6. Me in action (!) on Friday’s photo shoot.
7. A wonderful Mary Kay Ash quote.
Hope the sun is shining wherever you are x
