It is a total luxury being self-employed, I know this. Though there are times when I have wished I went to an “office” for the day, above all it has enabled me to raise my kids over the last two decades – something I am incredibly grateful for.
I should be used to the fluidity of my weeks by now, but sometimes I still find the lack of structure a challenge.
I think it is human nature to enjoy structure – so whilst I don’t get it in my unconventional working week I do get it from scheduling in exercise. I think in part that’s why I love exercising, along with the ability to switch your brain off when you train.
When I plan my weeks a lot of things are and have to be moveable – like when I had to free up an afternoon last week as the fridge/freezer broke down, but my exercise is non negotiable. Once it is in the diary, it doesn’t move and I love that.
I think that is one of the reasons I have had a really enjoyable week just gone, I had a modicum of structure back after a rest week – which made a real difference to my work/home balance.
I guess that is why I have chosen two exercise shots for the week just gone in pictures…..
I started this at lunchtime but got totally waylaid by the Men’s Final at Wimbledon – what a legend Federer is!
But time to post…From top left clockwise we have:
1. Pimm’s at Wimbledon.
2. A lovely Rumi quote.
3. A delicious, much needed coffee..
4. Me at Pilates, with my gorgeous new Laain activewear kit.
5. Resting between one leg squat sets at the gym.
6. A lovely family dinner at Flora Indica in South Kensington, London.
7. Part of the beautiful flower display at Wimbledon tennis.
Here’s to a great week ahead x
