So, late one today…it’s been a busy day…

This week I was reminded of something I already knew…

Whilst I love love LOVE being a singer and songwriter, and more recently blogger/writer – I am above all, a mother first.

I’m not launching into a whole stay at home mother/working mother debate. I honestly feel different things work for different people and there is no one right answer and to be honest – I juggle both – often rather chaotically but that’s kind of how it works for me.

I have mentioned before that being self-employed is a huge luxury, and one for which I am very grateful. I get to schedule my time in the way that suits me and importantly down tools if I need to for my kids. This week just gone was one of those weeks.

My son, after finishing his A levels went off around Europe inter-railing with his mates. But from the end of last week he fell ill and after 6 days I knew we had to do something. I resisted the urge to fly out to him and googled medical centres, but in the end he had to come home.

Anyway, we had a number of doctors appointments and many blood tests. Thankfully, it’s just a virus – I was worried something serious was afoot and the beauty of youth is he is feeling much better and is going to join his mates tomorrow.

I have lost three days – but making sure he was ok was all I wanted to be doing. My mantra for kids, ever since they were babies was “healthy, happy and safe” and that is as true today as it was when they were newborn….and to all my mates with younger children – the worry just doesn’t stop! It kinda gets worse – sorry!!

Anyway, all’s well that ends well in this instance….

Here is the week just gone in pictures. From top left clockwise we have:

1.A repost from tinybuddhaofficial.com

2.The sky one evening this week.

3. The wonderful Dua Lipa on “I’m listening to…” this week.

4. Me – before a day with my lovely mother.

5. A great Van Gogh quote.

6. My berry choice for my breakfast smoothie this week.

7. My choice of reading for chilling on Friday night.

Have a good one all x
